Cookie Department (Cookie DPT) was born from a yearning for home and family.
While big, decadent, cookies are a staple in American culture, they had yet to make their way to Asia. Born
and raised in the States, founder Wil Fang had to find this out the hard way. He started his career in the
fashion industry, which ultimately brought him from New York City to Asia. He soon realized Hong Kong didn’t
have the same homestyle cookies that he had grown accustomed to, so he began baking them
himself at home and shared them with friends and colleagues. His creations eventually made it on the menu at
his first cafe, Coffee Department, in Taipei.
With the growing success of his cookies in Taipei and the consistently increasing demand from friends to bring
cookies back from his trips, Wil launched Cookie Department in Hong Kong in May of 2018. His
cookies quickly gained popularity amongst the city’s foodies, as well as the luxury and fashion industries.
This paved the way for events and collaborations. Cookie Department continues to expand its cookie flavors
and has begun introducing new creations altogether.
We believe in having the best products possible, it’s in the ethos of everything we do. Cookie
started from a passion of creating a comforting, quality, home-style cookie. So everyday, that’s what
continue to do.
We use premium ingredients for all our products, including Hershey’s chocolate chips, Valrhona cocoa
powder, imported butter, imported wheat flour, and fresh locally farmed eggs.
Who says size doesn’t matter? Our signature cookies are one of the biggest in Hong Kong at 130 grams while our
wholesale cookies weigh in at 100 grams.
We make everything in our central kitchen on the south side of Hong Kong with zero artificial flavouring
preservatives, and bake our decadent, chunky, and chewy cookies fresh everyday.
